institutional defense

For offices, manufacturers, churches, etc.

THE CURRICULUM

The institutional defense class can include one or two parts: a site visit and/or a classroom presentation.

  •  The site visit evaluates the facility itself: means of entrance, video surveillance capacity, layout, alarms, options for cover, etc.

  • The classroom presentation, typically at the facility, covers threats from personnel, threats from clients, threats from relatives or those romantically involved with personnel, active shooters in general, company weapons policies, and dealing with law enforcement.

  • This presentation is NOT the typical Run-Hide-Fight or ALICE (Alert-Lockdown-Inform-Counter-Evacuate) which are designed to reduce casualties. REDUCTION of casualties is by definition the wrong approach.  The correct approach is MINIMIZATION of casualties.
